Leonard Leo Anderson was born July 27, 1921 to Oscar P. and Blanche C. Anderson. He died Aug. 9, 1942 and is memorialized at the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Manila, Philippines.
Petty Officer Anderson served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and was MIA/FOD/KIA as a member of the crew of the USS Quincy (CA-39) when that vessel was sunk as a result of enemy action during the Battle of Savo Island in the Pacific Ocean. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
