Kenneth Lloyd Anderson was born July 2, 1925 to Lloyd and Elsie Carlstedt Anderson. He died Dec. 17, 1997 and is buried in South Marion Cemetery, Stratford, IA.

Pvt. Anderson served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

Kenneth L. Anderson, 72, of Stratford, Iowa passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 17, 1997 due to cancer.

He was born on July 2, 1925 in Boone County, Iowa the son of Lloyd and Elsie (Carlstedt) Anderson.

On October 26, 1957 he married Wanda Arlene Hopkins at Fairbault, Minnesota.

Kenneth served with the United States Army in the South Pacific during World War II. He farmed all of his life. He later worked for Marshall King farming and DeKalb Seeds. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 817 in Boone.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, one great-grandson, and one sister, Maxine Wilhelm.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda of Dayton, Iowa, two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Charles Kinsey of Springfield, MO, Sharon and Lyle Osier of Stirum, ND, one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Sandy Ford of Des Moines, IA, one sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Bill Crouch of Boxholm, IA, 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services were held on Saturday, December 20 at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone, IA with Rev. David Burling officiating.

Interment was in South Marion Cemetery southeast of Stratford with military graveside services.

Memorials may be given to Homeward Hospice, Mary Greeley Medical Center, 1606 S. Duff Suite 400, Ames, IA 50010. Stark-Welin Funeral Directors in Boone was in charge of arrangements.
