All Are Transfers From Avoca Board
Forty-one selectees, all transfers from the Avoca draft board, who previously passed pre-induction, left Monday morning for Camp Dodge for induction into the army, the Council Bluffs draft board announced.

Killed in Action
MINDEN – Cpl. Ervin Zentz of Minden died in an army hospital in France on April 21, eight days after he was wounded in Germany. Zentz was a tank gunner and had been in combat since January.
Cpl. Zentz entered the service June 22, 1944, trained at Fort Knox, Ky, and went overseas Christmas day, 1944.
His wife Verna, three children, and his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Emory Zentz, survive.
