ROCK VALLEY:
A telegram received last Saturday by Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. VandeWeerd advised them that their son, Sgt. Clarence VandeWeerd of the U. S. Marines had arrived in the United States and is at the fleet hospital in San Francisco suffering from malaria. He has been in the South Pacific for 26 months and is in need of rest.

ROCK VALLEY:
Sgt. Clarence VandeWeerd of the U. S. Marine Corps arrived home Wednesday on a 30-day sick leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. VandeWeerd. He has been in the South Pacific for the past 32 months, and has been ill with malaria. He came from Klamath Falls, Oregon, and will leave April 4 for a rest camp there.
