PROMOTED
Robert Thompson has been promoted from private first class to corporal and awarded the bronze star, according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Christensen, 1223 East Washington avenue. With the medical corps at the general hospital on New Guinea, Cpl. Thompson has been overseas 28 months and has been in the army 31 months. Cpl. Thompson’s brother, Albert Thompson, served in the navy for a few months prior to receiving a medical discharge and returning to his position with the Council Bluffs fire department.
