FLIGHT CHIEF
A modern version of the old saying about “the shoulder to the wheel” is provided by a Council Bluffs man, T. Sgt. Robert H. Tank, as he puts his shoulder to the prop of a C-47 at the Air Transport Command base where he is stationed in the India wing. A flight chief, he supervises aircraft maintenance on the ATC planes which fly vital military routes in India. Before entering military service in February, 1942, T. Sgt. Tank was a salesman for the Firestone Tire and Rubber company. He has been in the India-China division of AT for the past year. The sergeant is married and his wife is living with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Tank, 724 Mill street.
