NEWS of the BOYS in the SERVICE
Nicholas Stoos, Torpedoman 2/c, son of Nick Stoos Sr., was visiting his father and the family in Remsen after three years in the Navy, nearly all of which time was spent overseas. He enlisted in September, 1941, and landed at Pearl Harbor on December 3—but four days prior to the Jap attack there. However, he went aboard the Litchfield and was at sea when the attack came. The ship immediately returned and Nick was stationed there ever since with numerous patrol cruises in the area. He landed back on the west coast October 4. He left Sunday for New London, Conn., and will remain there indefinitely.
