Notes About N.E. Iowans in the Service
OELWEIN—Capt. Donald Shaw, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Hardy Shaw of Oelwein, has received an honorable discharge after serving for the last 35 months with the army air forces. He entered service after one year at Harvard. For the past 19 months Shaw has been serving in the China-Burma-India theater of operations.

Donald Hardy Shaw was born June 1, 1922 to John Hardy and Minnie Jane Brown Shaw. He died Apr. 21, 2008 and is buried in Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL.
