Capt. Don F. Rodawig, formerly of the Marcus Snyder Memorial hospital, Spirit Lake, has written friends recently he is very busy aiding American soldiers in Africa.
Capt. Rodawig has been in the Army about a year, having been stationed at several American bases before being sent overseas. “Things are running smoothly at this hospital, with equipment of the best.” Americans, he wrote, are being given very good medical service.

MAJOR DONALD F. RODAWIG.
Major Donald F. Rodawig, former Spirit Lake physician and surgeon, has been re-assigned to duty after his long period of leave and rest since arrival in the States from Italy. He has now been assigned to the Winter General hospital at Topeka, Kans., and has the post as chief of the surgical section. He now has charge of all the surgery and surgeons in the hospital, which has been enlarged to over 2,000 beds within recent months. The hospital is now being used for overseas casualties. His experience in station hospitals in Africa and Italy contributed largely to his new appointment.

Donald Floyd Rodawig was born Feb. 10, 1905 to Frank W. and Elizabeth Selsor Rodawig. He died Sept. 17, 1980 and is buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Spirit Lake, IA.
