Pvt. Paul C. Poppenheimer

 

 

 

Paul C. Poppenheimer, former manager of the Montgomery Ward store in Denison and previously employed by the Montgomery Ward store in Sioux City has been reported missing in action since October 12, his wife, who lives in Denison, was informed by the war-department.

He entered the service March 16, 1944 and after 17 weeks if infantry training at Camp Roberts, California was sent directly to France arriving there early in September.

WAR PRISONER

Pvt. Paul C. Poppenheimer, missing in action since October 12, is a German prisoner, according to a letter received Thursday morning from the War Department by his wife, who lives at 3108 ½ Dodge avenue.

Pvt. Poppenheimer, former manager of the Montgomery Ward store in Denison and previously employed by the Montgomery Ward store in Sioux City, entered the service March 16, 1944.  After 17 weeks of infantry training at Camp Roberts, Cal., he was sent to France arriving there last September.
