MISSING
Pfc. Bertis S. Orr has been missing in action in Luxembourg since Feb. 7, according to word received by his mother, Mrs. Abbie B. Beal, 925 Military avenue. In the army infantry for three years, he has spent 20 months in the Pacific theater of war. He left in November, 1944 for the European theater.

KILLED IN ACTION
Pfc. Bertis S. Orr, previously reported missing in action on Feb. 7 in Luxembourg, lost his life on that date, according to word received from the war department by his mother, Mrs. Abbie B. Beals, 925 Military avenue. In the army infantry three years, he spent 20 months in the Aleutian islands before serving in the European theater of war since November, 1944. A brother, Aviation Metalsmith 1/c Emmett A. Orr, is now serving with the navy, stationed in Cuba.

Obituaries
Bertis Stanley Orr
Funeral services for Pfc. Bertis Stanley Orr, 32, killed in action in Luxemburg on Feb. 7, 1944, will be held Wednesday at 2 p. m. at the Beem-Belford Funeral Home. The Rev. Frank Davis, assist-pastor of the First Christian church will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn cemetery. The V. F. W. will conduct military rites.
Before entering the service Pfc. Orr worked at Red Oak.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Abbie Beals, of Council Bluffs; one sister, Mr. C. C. Scantlebury of Hampton, and a brother, Emmett A. Orr of Washington, D. C.
