MUMFORD WINS WINGS AS FLYER
Another Council Bluffs youth to be graduated as a second lieutenant and awarded his wings Saturday was Lt. Willard G. Mumford who arrived with his wife from he Fort Sumner army base in New Mexico this week, to visit with their parents here.
Lt. Mumford is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Mumford, 2118 Fifth avenue, his wife the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Bretz, 2101 Avenue A.
A graduate of Thomas Jefferson high school in 1941, he was majoring in chemistry at the University of Nebraska at the time of his enlistment in the army one and one-half years ago.
