Pfc. Jack A. McCormick

 

Local Soldier Reported Missing

Pfc. Jack A. McCormick has been missing in action in Belgium since Jan. 5, the war department notified his mother, Mrs. Eva McCormick this week.

Pfc. McCormick has been in the army since 1941 and went overseas in May, 1944.

He has two brothers in service, Pfc. John McCormick with the army air force in India and Pvt. Milford McCormick at Camp Wolters, Tex.

NOTE: Pfc. Jack A. McCormick, according to USGenWeb account, died of pneumonia in Germany on April 15, 1945.

Pvt. McCormick served in World War II with the U.S. Army 330th Infantry Regiment, 83rd Infantry Division and was MIA in Belgium and became German POW. He died as a POW and is buried in Ardennes American Cemetery, Neupre, Belgium.
