Sgt. Lawrence Mattas from Camp Laguna, Ariz., is enjoying a week furlough with his mother, Mrs. Mary Mattas of Merrill. Sgt. Mattas says the west is OK, but he prefers Iowa.

Lawrence T. “Steve” Mattas, Sgt., Co. A 724 L. Tnk. Bn., Camp Polk, La., has been a tank commander for about a year. Steve was home in January and was quite disgusted that his outfit has been held here on maneuvers and training so long.
