Cpl. Melvin K. Marienau

 

 

WAR SERVICE NEWS.

Melvin K. Marienau, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Marienau of route 4, LeMars, has recently been promoted from private first class to his present rank of corporal, while serving with an infantry regiment on an advance U.S. base in the South Pacific area. Cpl. Marienau has been doing outstanding work in the mortar section of a rifle company. A former employee of the Great Northern railroad, he has been overseas since September 1942. NEWS of the MERRILL SERVICE MEN 
From Merrill Service Men's News

Melvin Marieneau, Sgt. has been with the infantry in the southwest Pacific 20 months, training in the Fiji and New Hebrides Islands before moving closer to Tokio. He visited London. His wife, Helen LaBahn, is in Merrill.
