NEWS of the BOYS in the SERVICE.

Donald (Bud) W. Lucken, fireman second class, returned to the Great Lakes Naval Training Station, Friday, after spending a nine day furlough at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Henry Lucken, living east of Akron. On return he will attend a machinist mate’s school.

Donald Wayne “Bud” Lucken was born Apr. 29, 1921 to John Henry “Henry" and Cecelia M. Woll Lucken. He died Apr. 30, 2003 and is buried in Plymouth Presbyterian Cemetery, Brunsville, IA. 

Petty Officer Lucken was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal with three Bronze Stars, World War II Victory Medal and Navy Occupation Service Medal with Asia Clasp for his Navy service in World War II.
