LOCAL YOUTH IS GIVEN PROMOTION
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Long, Route 2, have received word that their son, Pvt. Ernest Long, has been promoted to the rank of corporal.
Cpl. Long has been overseas eight months and is not stationed with the army medical corps in England.
A graduate of Abraham Lincoln high school, he was employed at the Micklin Lumber Co., prior to the date of entering the service in January of 1943.
Cpl. Long received basic training at Camp Barkeley, Tex., and was transferred directly from Texas to England.
