Cpl. Robert J. Logan Dies of Battle Wounds

Cpl. Robert J. Logan, 28, son of Merritt D. Logan, Ogden hotel, died Sept. 2 of wounds received in action in France, according to an Associated Press release Saturday night.
Cpl. Logan made his home with his grandfather, the late Robert Richelieu of Omaha. He was a member of the Iowa National Guard, leaving here in January, 1941.
He is survived by his father; two sisters, including Mrs. Margaret Hiers, Ogden hotel, and five brothers, all residents of Omaha.

Robert John Logan was born Sept. 28, 1916 to Merritt Dale and Ella May Richelieu Logan. He died Sept. 2, 1944 and is buried in Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France.
Sgt. Logan served in World War II with the U.S. Army 113th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron and died in France. He was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster.
