George Liddle of Terril Graduates
From Gunner School With High Honors

Mrs. Elmira Liddle of Terril received word Monday from her son, George Lee, who has been in training in a gunners school at Tyndall Field, Panama City, Florida, that he had graduated from that school with a flight of 85. He was second highest in rating with an average of 92%. George Lee went as a volunteer in Selective Service February 23 of this year. He is a graduate of Arnolds Park high school in 1942.

George Lee Liddle was born Aug. 29, 1924 to Arthur Lee and Elmira Jane McDonald Liddle. He died Nov. 15, 2011 and is buried in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA. Sgt. Liddle served with the U.S. Air Force in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He flew 49 B-24 bombing missions against the Germans in World War II and was decorated 6 times.
