AT CAMP VAN DORN
TRANSFERRED
John F. Kromer, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kromer, Sr., of Allison, was transferred at the end of his basic training at Camp Van Dorn, Mississippi, to an intelligence and reconnaissance platoon. He was the only one of his company to be transferred to the platoon whose duty in warfare is to learn the position of the enemy, its strength and such other information as may be of value in attack.
John, who is in the infantry, entered service March 25, and a short time ago, Mrs. Kromer and their two children, John and Mardell, went to Macon, Mississippi, to spend the summer with him.
