Malvern Air Officer Reported Missing

MALVERN – Lt. Earl Rodenberg, a co-pilot, has been reported missing in action over France since May 24, according to word received by his wife, the former Maxine Wolfe of Malvern. Mrs. Rodenberg and her baby son make their home with her mother, Mrs. Edward Wolfe in Malvern. Lt. Rodenberg’s parents life in Council Bluffs.
Sgt. Harvey Knight, jr., has been reported as slightly wounded in Italy, April 25, according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harve Knight, by the war department. Their son, DeVere Knight was killed in action in Italy. A third son, Hartley, is with the air corps in England.

Devere Hiram Knight was born Aug. 5, 1915 to Harvey John and Emily Carolyn Clary Knight. He died Nov. 4, 1943 and is buried in Malvern Cemetery, Malvern, IA.
Sgt. Knight served in World War II with the U.S. Army 168th Infantry, 34th Division and was KIA in Italy in the service of his country.
