MEMORIAL FOR PVT. JENNINGS
To Be Held On Sunday Afternoon

Memorial services for Pvt. Donald Jennings, who was killed in a plane crash at Chengtu, China, December 25, will be held Sunday afternoon, January 7, at 2:30, at the Church of the Nazarene. Rev. A. Ulmet, pastor of the church, will be in charge of the services.

Donald Jennings, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jennings, was born in LeMars and grew to manhood here, graduating from the LeMars high school.

The survivors are his parents; three brothers, Sgt. Walter Jennings, Pratt, Kansas; Robert C. Jennings, S2/c, somewhere in the southwest Pacific; and Charles S., Sunnyside, Calif.; and a sister, Leona.

Sgt. Walter Jennings arrived Wednesday evening and will be here for the memorial services.

SOLDIER’S NEWS.

Sgt. Walter R. Jennings left Sunday evening for Sedalia, Mo., after spending a few days of an emergency furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jennings.  At Sedalia he will visit his wife before returning  to his base at Pratt, Kans.  He is a member of the air corps and has been in the service for 32 months.  He belongs to a ground crew, servicing B29s.  He was given an emergency furlough following the death of his brother, Donald Jennings, who was killed on Christmas day in an air transport crash at Chengtu, China.

Walter Raymond Jennings, Jr. was born Apr. 21, 1920 to Walter and Esther Taylor Jennings. He died Sept. 30, 1993 and is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.

Sgt. Jennings served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II.
