Frank W. Jamison

 

RETURNS FROM WARS—The USS Massachusetts, which reached the west coast on Sept. 13, to become the first battleship to return to the states from the Pacific war.  During her war career she sank 3 enemy vessels, seriously damaged 2 fighting ships, and sailed more than 225,000 miles.  She participated in 35 engagements during 3 years of operations in 2 oceans.  North Iowans aboard this ship when she returned were:  Frank W. Jamison, 37, seaman 1/c, of Sheffield, and Loren A. Stock, seaman 1/c, son of Mr. and Mrs. August W. Stock, of Dumont.
