William Grahlman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerd Grahlman and Clarence Ball, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Ball of America township, returned home Wednesday from Des Moines where they took examinations this week for entrance into the Navy.

William Edgar Grahlman was born Nov. 11, 1927 to Gerd Wessels and Maude Henrietta Langendorfer Grahlman. He died Nov. 18, 2006 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. William served with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Japan from 1945 to 1947.
