Obituary ~ S/Sgt. Paul E. Gorden
March 27, 1916 ~ June 04, 1944
Staff Sargent assigned to the 292 Field ARTY.OBSN. BN. Word reached Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Gorden of Davis City, that their son, Paul, 28, had lost his life in a motorcycle crash at a Texas camp Sunday. He had been stationed at a camp in Brownsville, Texas for some time.
Paul, who attended the Lamoni schools, had last visited home 4 months ago, and while here met with his many friends in Lamoni for a chat.
He leaves to mourn his early passing his mother and father and the following brothers and sisters: Earl, of Esterville, Iowa; Chester, of Des Moines, Iowa; Kenneth of Camp Roberts, Calif.; Dorothy Blake, of Mololla, Ore.; Freda Randall, of Boise, Idaho; Lila Belle and Danny of the home.
The entire community extends sympathy to the Gorden family in the loss of this lad.
