A party in honor of Pfc. Clifford Fenn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wythel Fenn, Council Bluffs was held in the home of his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Fen Carspecken.

PROMOTED

Clifford L. Fenn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wythel Fenn, route No. 2, has been promoted from private first class to sergeant at Casper, Wyo., where he has been in advanced training at the army air base. Sgt. Fenn was graduated on Jan. 22 at Harlingen, Tex., as an aerial gunner in the flexible gunnery school. He is a graduate of Abraham Lincoln high school in 1943.

FENN REPORTED MISSING IN ACTION

S. Sgt. Clifford L. Fenn has been reported missing in action over Hungary. S. Sgt. Fenn is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wythel L. Fenn, Route 2. No other details were given in the announcement received by his parents this week from the war department.

Overseas since about the first of June and based in Italy during that time, he is believed by his parents, to have been on a bombing mission at the time he went down.

He is an aerial gunner on a Liberator bomber, having been awarded his aerial gunner wings at Harlingen, Tex., on Jan. 22, 1944. S. Sgt. Fenn entered the service at Sheppard field, Tex., on Sept. 8 where he received his basic training; was then transferred to Casper, Wyo., and to Pueblo, Col., for further training before his final work at Harlingen.
He has been overseas since about June 1.

S. Sgt. Fenn was graduated from Abraham Lincoln high school in 1943. While in school he was active in R. O. T. C., and in music.

REPORTED KILLED IN ACTION

S. Sgt. Clifford L. Fenn, missing in action since July 2, 1944 with the 15th air force in Italy, is now reported killed in action.

Obituaries

TO RETURN BODY OF S. SGT. CLIFFORD FENN

The body of S. Sgt. Clifford L. Fenn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wytehl Fenn of route 2 is being returned here for burial.

Sgt. Fenn was killed in action over Budapest, Hungary, in July, 1944, while serving as gunner on a B-24 bomber with the 15th air force.

A graduate of Abraham Lincoln high school in June 1943, he entered the armed forces in September, 1943.

Survivors are his parents and a grandmother, Mrs. Cora Fenn of Carson.

Meyer mortuary will be in charge of arrangements.
