Pvt. George De Vall Reported Wounded Fighting in Italy
Mr. and Mrs. Ben De Vall, living in Stanton township, have been notified that their son, Pfc. George De Vall, was wounded while fighting in Italy, May 8. A telegram from the War Department said he was wounded in the leg by shrapnel.
Pvt. De Vall served with Company K in LeMars before the war and went to Camp Claiborne with the unit before war was declared. He was in a contingent sent to England and later served in North Africa and Italy.

Word has been received from Pfc. George De Vall by friends, that he has now recovered from wounds received in Italy and expects to be back to duty.

George Franklin DeVall was born July 18, 1915 to Benjamin H. and Lela May Schultz DeVall. He died Aug. 29, 1983 and is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Anthon, IA.
