Lt. Wilbur DePree

 

 

 

NEWS OF MEN IN THE SERVICE.

Lieut. Wilbur DePree was commissioned a first lieutenant in the army air forces on March 22, just one day short of a year after he entered the army.  He has completed his training and is now at MacDill Field in Florida waiting orders to take him into active duty.

Lieut. Wilbur DePree is home from MacDill Field in Florida on a ten day leave. He was recently promoted to first lieutenant and has been awaiting orders to overseas duty since the first of the year. He will remain in LeMars until next Wednesday.

Wilbur Henry Boer DePree was born Mar. 13, 1910 to J. J. and Marie K. Boer DePree. He died Feb. 3, 1973 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery, LeMars, IA. 

Col. DePree served with the U.S. Army in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star.
