Pvt. Kenneth E. Culver

 

 

SCRANTON NEWS:
An item of interest to many friends of Pvt. Kenneth Culver that he is stationed at Camp McCall, at Huffman, N. C. Saturday evening he called about 7, and talked by telephone to his mother, Mrs. Wilbur Culver. He told her he was well and all right, but was homesick.

SCRANTON NEWS:
Pvt. Kenneth Culver of Hoffman, N. C., arrived home from Camp McCall Tuesday evening on a 15-day furlough at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Culver.

Pvt. Kenneth Culver departed Sunday for his camp in North Carolina. He arrived home Tuesday night. Russell Culver, of Richmond, Cal., and his brother Calmar of Oakland, Cal., arrived Wednesday morning at the parental Wilbur Culver home to join their brother, Pvt. Kenneth. They will leave Monday for their homes in California. Their sister, Lois, had also arrived home Sunday, Oct. 30, from California. She will remain for an indefinite visit. This is the first time the Culver children have all been home together since they were small children, so it was a happy event at the Culver home.

SCRANTON:
Pvt. Kenneth Culver of Camp Polk, La., arrived home Tuesday on a 16-day furlough at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Culver.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Culver received word a telegram Wednesday from the acting adjutant general, Washington, D.C., which read as follows: “Regret to inform you your son was seriously wounded in action on Leyte, December 5. Until new address is received, mail for him Pfc. Kenneth E. Culver, hospitalized, Central Directory, A.P.O. 501 care of Postmaster, San Francisco. You will be advised as reports of his condition are received.”

SCRANTON NEWS:
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Culver received a letter Monday from their son, Pvt. Kenneth Culver, who was wounded on Leyte. He is now at a hospital in New Guinea. He said he was in the Philippines for a month, and for his folks not to worry about him.

SCRANTON:
Pfc. Kenneth Culver arrived home Friday afternoon from Texas for a 30 day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Culver. Private Culver received injuries while overseas and following his furlough he will return to Texas.
