COMES FOR VISIT.
Staff Sergeant James C. Cooksey, stationed at Ft. Jackson, S.C., with an infantry unit, is spending a 15-day furlough with his wife at their home, 116 Lord avenue.  He has been in the service for 18 months.

LIST OF MISSING IN ACTION GREW IN 1944
Among those from this area who have been listed as missing in action in official dispatches to next of kin, and upon casualty lists of the armed services, are:

STAFF SGT. JAMES COOKSEY—Staff Sgt. James C. Cooksey, husband of the former Genevieve Naber, 115 Lord street, was listed as missing in action since Oct. 1, 1944. He entered the service on Feb. 17, 1943, and left for overseas duty on Aug. 22, of this year. He was a member of an infantry division.

James Corliss Cooksey was born Jan. 27, 1921 to Peck Nicholas and Hazel Fern Lee Cooksey. He died Oct. 1, 1944 and is buried in Saint Marys Cemetery, Muscatine, IA.

Sgt. Cooksey was squad leader assigned to Company B, 23rd Armored Infantry Battalion, 7th Armored Division and was MIA/KIA in Holland.
