COLLINS, COGLEY MEET IN GUINEA
Maj. John P. Cogley, Council Bluffs surgeon, was sitting at an improvised desk in the jungles of New Guinea the evening of Jan. 2, writing to an acquaintance in Council Bluffs.
A navy officer walked into this tent, inquired if certain medical supplies were availabl.
Maj. Cogley looked up.
The man was Naval Lt. Robert M. Collins of Council Bluffs.

Lt. Collins Is Given Medal
Lt. Robert M. Collins of the Navy Medical Corps and formerly of the Council Bluffs Clinic has been awarded the navy and marine medal for “distinguishing himself by meritorious achievement and service in connection with operations in the southwest Pacific as a member of the surgical unit of the 7th amphibious force during the period of April 1944 to July 1944.” Mrs. Collins will reside in Twenty-nine Palma, Calif., for the duration.

RETURNS TO CITY
Lt. Com. Robert M. Collins, 405 Oakland avenue, arrived home recently to spend his terminal leave. Former Council Bluffs physician, he expects to open an officer soon in the Council Bluffs clinic.

DR. COLLINS BACK to PRACTICE HERE
Dr. Robert M. Collins, who has spent over three years in the navy’s medical corps, has returned to his medical practice here at the Council Bluffs clinic.
Dr. Collins, who limits his practice to obstetrics and gynecology, was a lieutenant commander and spent two of his three years with the navy in the southwest Pacific areas and has been decorated with the navy and marine medal. He practiced here for six years before entering the service.
He lives at 405 Oakland avenue.
