T/Sgt. John W. Claussen

 

T. Sgt. Claussen Reported Missing in German Sector

T. Sgt. John W. Claussen, engineer on a B-17, has been reported missing in action over Germany since December 29, 1944, according to a telegram received from the War Department by his mother, Mrs. Ella Claussen, 711 14th street. He was stationed at an Eighth army air force bomber station in England.

A letter from him was received by his mother last week, stating that he planned to be home in January. A brother, Earl Claussen, gunner’s mate second class, is stationed somewhere in the South Pacific with the Navy.

IN UNIFORM

T. Sgt. John W. Claussen, 711 14th Street, who served 10 months in the European theater of operations as an engineer gunner, has arrived at the San Antonio, Texas, district, army air force personnel distribution command. Sgt. Claussen, the son of John Claussen, was a prisoner of war.
