Chief Warrant Officer, Robert H. Clarke, United States Navy, and Mrs. Clarke were in Sioux City Thursday on their way to the Patuxant Naval air station at Patuxant River, Md., to which he has been assigned after having spent 21 months in the Philippine islands. He saw earlier service in several other parts of the Pacific area after having been called to duty from the Naval reserves immediately after Pearl Harbor. At the outbreak of the war, he was with American Air Lines in El Paso, Tex. His boyhood home was in LeMars. He worked in the Sioux City Journal advertising department and left Sioux City in 1936. The Clarkes have been visiting Mrs. Clarke’s mother, Mrs. Anna Kitterman, at Denison, Ia.
