NEOLA SOLDIER DEAD in PACIFIC
Pvt. Ralph Ray Brown

NEOLA – Pvt. Ralph R. Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Brown of Neola, died of malaria in a Japanese prison camp about May 11, 1942, according to word just received from the war department by his parents. Last word from Pvt. Brown was received Dec. 21, 1941. Memorial services will be held Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Neola Presbyterian church.

Ralph Ray Brown was born Jan. 14, 1917 to Ralph W. and Hazel Brown. He died May 11, 1942 and is buried in Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Pvt. Brown served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps Headquarters Squadron, 27th Bomb Group, Light and died as a POW in the Philippines.
