Pvt. Alrick Francis Begnoche

 

 

 

 

 

Alrick Francis Begnoche was born 17 July 1910, in Clyde, Cloud County, Kansas, to Fredrick and Mary (Arpin) Begnoche. Alrick attended school in St. Joseph. Siblings are Frank, Edmay, Beulah Parmelee, Albert, John, Irene, Archie, Everette, Pilbert, Raymond, Odella Girard, Margerite, Marin, Elmer, and Marie.

Alrick married Sidonia R. Rochester, 2 November 1934, in South Sioux City, Nebraska. They have one son, Dennis J. Begnoche, Sr. Later they divorce and he married Gertrud Ulbar. Gertrud passed away April 2003. Dennis and his wife, Glenda, have six children, fourteen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

He came to Sioux City as a young man looking for work and his sister, Beulah lived here. He worked for Pott Sales as a mechanic; later for Bomgaars Auto Supply, and finally at Disneyland as a mechanic for fourteen years. He moved to California in about 1963. He enjoyed cars.

Alrick was drafted about 27 May 1943, in Sioux City. He was sent first to Fort Crook, Nebraska, then to Fort Leonardwood, Kansas. Alrick was just short of his 32nd birthday when he was called to service. He was a mechanic in the service. He was attached to the Medical Detachment SCU 1953. He was discharged 30 July 1943, 2nd Ind. Hq Camp Callan, California. He was another lucky one, he never left the United States. He served 1 year, 2 months, and 8 days.

Alrick died 25 August 1970, in Anahiem and is buried there.
