In a letter received recently from Bob Becker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alwin Becker, he stated that he is now stationed at Camp Fannin, Texas, where his battalion has just been filled and training is now starting in earnest.

Mrs. A. R. Becker, who has been receiving medical treatment at the Sacred Heart Hospital, is reported to be much improved. Her son, Pvt. Robert Becker, who has been home on furlough from Camp Yuma, Ariz., and who was scheduled to return to a camp in New Jersey today, was granted a five-day furlough extension.

According to a press bulletin sent out from the 319th Infantry headquarters in France, Pfc. L. Becker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alwin Becker, has been awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge for exemplary conduct in action against the enemy. Pfc. Becker is a graduate of LeMars high school and entered the service June 10, 1943.

Robert John Becker was born Nov. 19, 1910 to Henry C. F. and Margaret Elizabeth Foley Becker. He died June 3, 1978 and is buried in Saint Michaels Cemetery, Kingsley, IA.
