NEWS of the BOYS in the Service
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Albers, formerly of LeMars, now living on a farm near Waterbuy, Neb., have been notified that their son, Sgt. Clarence Albers, was seriously wounded while fighting in Italy on April 10. Sgt. Albers left LeMars in February, 1942, with a contingent of draftees and has been overseas a year and a half. He participated in the African and Sicilian invasions before going to Italy and has been awarded the Purple Heart decoration.

Clarence August Albers was born June 18, 1919 to Ernest and Nellie Mildred Hittle Albers. He died Dec. 6, 1994 and is buried in Whiting Cemetery, Whiting, IA.
