Harry Louis Baack was born Feb. 4, 1920 to Louis John and Marie Katherine Theresa Bultman Baack. He died Nov. 20, 1943 and is memorialized at the Courts of the Missing, Court 5, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Petty Officer Baack served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and died at sea near Makin Island in the Pacific Ocean.

Samuel Asa Babb was born June 20, 1918 to George E. and Mae R. Harding Babb. He died Apr. 8, 1943 and is buried in Oto Cemetery, Oto, IA.

Cpl. Babb served in World War II with the U.S. Army 135th Infantry, 34th Division and was KIA at Faid Pass, Africa.

Harley Burton Babbitz was born Sept. 18, 1924 to Henry L. and Bessie E. Sacks Babbitz. He died June 6, 2005 and is buried in Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego, CA.

Sgt. Babbitz served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

David Malone Bahmer was born Sept. 29. 1924 to Joseph H. and Martha Malone Bahmer. He died Feb. 1, 1944 and is buried in Arlington Cemetery, Moville, IA.

Pvt. Bahmer served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 20th Marines, 4th Marine Division and was KIA in the Marshall Islands.

Herman Richard Bailey was born Feb. 18, 1912 to Dale and Mattie Lovelace Bailey. He died Mar. 31, 1949 and is buried in Fairview Cemetery, Cherryvale, KS. 

Sgt. Bailey served with the U.S. Army 644th Ordnance Company in World War II. He was living in Sioux City, IA at the time of his entry into the armed services.

Robert Warren “Bob" Baker was born Sept. 4, 1918 to Glenn A. and Arla Etta Morris Baker. He died Jan. 8, 1995 and is buried in Lyons Cemetery, Lyons, NE.

Sgt. Baker served with the U.S. Army Air Force in World War II and Korea.

Willard Keith “Keith” Baker was born Sept. 17, 1929 to Charles B. and Clara Bice Baker. He died Sept. 23, 2017 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.

Maj. Baker joined the U.S. Army during the end of World War II. Following the war he joined the Air Force Reserve and was called up to serve in the Korean War. In 1955 he became an officer and pilot in the U.S. Air Force, serving in Vietnam, retiring as a Major in 1969. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal and 5 Oak Leaf Clusters, and Air Force Commendation Medal and Oak Leaf Cluster.

Winfred Ross Baker was born Sept. 1, 1919 to W. R. (Sr.) and Vesta Holman Baker. He died July 26, 1945 in Sioux City, IA. Winfred served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Virgil Etherain Bales was born Jan. 28, 1919 to Charles Alfred and Bertha Ellen Doud Bales. He died Nov. 18, 1944 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Petty Officer Bales served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS McKeane (DD-90) and was MIA/KIA when that vessel was sunk off Bougainville Island in the Solomon Islands when struck by an enemy torpedo. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Stanley Henry Bangert was born Mar. 27, 1919 to William H. and Katherine Sattler Bangert. He died Feb. 26 1944 and is memorialized at the Courts of the Missing, Court 5, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii and has a cenotaph in Evangelical Cemetery, Bon Homme County, SD.

Petty Officer Bangert served in World War II aboard the USS Grayback (SS-208) when that ship was sunk. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Jack Warren Bard was born Mar. 14, 1923 to Abel E. and Alice Fox Bard. He died May 8, 2012 and is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Houston, TX.

Jack served in World War II with the U.S. Army.

Harold Thomas Barton was born Mar. 4, 1918 to Ralph G. and Teresa Kane Barton. He died Feb. 21, 1944 and memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands and in Calvary Cemetery, Sioux City, IA.

Sgt. Barton served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 676th Bomber Squadron, 392nd Bomber Group, Heavy and was MIA/KIA in the North Sea off the Dutch Coast. He was a crew member on a B-24 Liberator bomber on a combat mission to Germany. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Robert LeRoy Bass was born Sept. 27, 1921 to Vallie LeRoy and Frances Joyce Anderson Bass. He died Mar. 19, 1945 and has a cenotaph at the Courts of the Missing, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Sgt. Bass served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps, Marine Fighting Squadron 214 (VMF 214) and served aboard the USS Franklin (CV-13) and was KIA when his ship was hit by two bombs. Thirty-one armed and fueled aircraft were on the flight deck and the resulting explosions killed 807 and wounded 487 on board. His body was not recovered.
