Willard Serge Faulkner was born May 12, 1918 to Matthew Grover and Catherine Faulkner. He died Nov. 25, 1945 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and has a cenotaph in Evergreen Cemetery, Lineville, IA.
Petty Officer Faulkner served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Edsall (DD-219) which was sunk by the Japanese in the Indian Ocean. He was MIA/FOD/KIA and awarded the Purple Heart.
