Durward L. Van Dever was born Sept. 10, 1913 to Ray L. and Anna O. Atherton Van Dever. He died Apr. 30, 1945 and is buried in Eldon Cemetery, Eldon, IA.

Cpl. Van Dever served in World War II with the U.S. Army and died in Italy in a vehicle accident.

Marvin Eugene Van Dyke was born Feb. 25, 1917 to Lee Otis and Hadassa May Sidebottom Van Dyke. He died Mar. 11, 1945 and is buried in Ottumwa Cemetery, Ottumwa, IA.

Capt. Van Dyke served in World War II with the U.S. Army 41st Division and was KIA on Morotai Island while serving his country.

Dorence Lee VanFleet was born Aug. 30, 1917 to Promer Dell and Marie Carnahan VanFleet. He died May 5, 1946 and is buried in Ottumwa Cemetery, Ottumwa, IA. 

Maj. VanFleet served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and died when the transport plane he was piloting crashed into a mountainside in Montana. Maj. VanFleet was the holder of the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with oak leaf clusters and various other awards.

Albert D. Vannice was born Oct. 31, 1926 to Robert Abraham and Lura Cecil Talbert Vannice. He died Nov. 18, 1945 and is buried in Fort Madison Cemetery, Kirksville, MO.

Pvt. Vannice served in World War II with the U.S. Army and died as the result of a Greyhound Bus accident between Salt Lake City and Wendover, Utah.
