Berle Elvin Sampson was born Aug. 31, 1914 to Clarence and Belle Hungerford Sampson. He died July 15, 1942 and is buried in Forest Cemetery, Oskaloosa, IA.

Capt. Sampson served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and died as the result of an airplane crash near Galveston, TX. He was serving with the 124th Observation Squadron, Ellington Field, TX at the time of his death.

Herman Nelson Savage was born Mar. 2, 1902 Hanabale Newton and Sarah Adeline Thomas Savage. He died Nov. 5, 1942 and is buried in Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Manila, Philippines.

Pvt. Savage served in World War II with the U.S. Army 163rd Infantry, 41st Division and died while in the service of his country.

DeLeyth Sayles was born Feb. 9, 1914 to Thomas and Edith May Roudebush Sayles. He died Jan. 10, 1945 and is buried in Epinal American Cemetery, Dinoze, France and has a cenotaph in Drakesville Cemetery, Drakesville, IA.

Pvt. Sayles served in World War II with the U.S. Army 179th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division and was KIA and awarded the Purple Heart.
