Elmer R. Ziegler, Jr. was born Sept. 16, 1921 to Elmer R. (Sr.) and Pearl E. Ziegler. He died July 10, 1945 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, National Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii.
Lt. Ziegler served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 40th Fighter Squadron, 35th Fighter Group and was MIA/KIA over Formosa and awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal.
