Charles Samuel Kucera was born Mar. 3, 1918 to Charles Merch and Anna Marie Kucera. He died Sept. 22, 1944 and is buried in Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL.

Pvt. Kucera served in World War II with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and was MIA/KIA in France while assisting another engineer outfit in the construction of a bridge.
