Merlin Grant Spangler was born Dec. 5, 1894 to Morzelous and Lizzie Inez Stevens Spangler. He died May 1986.

Cdr. Spangler served in World War II with the U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps in Washington, D.C. where he was in charge of the Bureau of Yards and Docks. He served in World War I with the U.S. Army Field Artillery.

Earl K. Spaulding was born Nov. 5, 1905 to Thomas C. and Dolly L. Kent Spaulding. He died Sept. 11, 1993 and is buried in Sunset Memorial Park, San Antonio, TX.

MSgt. Spaulding served in World War II with the U.S. Army in the European Theatre where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He also served in Korea where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He retired after more than 32-1/2 years of service.
