Robert E. Spalding was born Aug. 12, 1925 to Charles H. and Mary Frances Baughman Spalding. He died Dec. 31, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Nettuno, Italy.

Sgt. Spalding served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 758th Bomber Squadron, 459th Bomber Group, Heavy and was MIA/KIA in the Mediterranean area and awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster.

Charles Henry Speer was born Feb. 1, 1911 to Henry T. and Ella Dora Dankers Speer. He died Oct. 24, 1944 and is buried in Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Pvt. Speer served in World War II with the U.S. Army 321st Infantry Regiment, 81st Infantry Division and died of wounds received in action on Peleliu Island, Palau Group in the Pacific. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Harry John Spies was born June 14, 1917 to George F. and Edna Hilda Ronnfeldt Spies. He died Aug. 7, 1943 and is buried in Pine Hill Cemetery,

Sgt. Spies served in World War II with the U.S. Army and died in the Southwest Pacific area while in the service of his country.

Frederick Anthony Spiess was born May 28, 1917 to William and Mary Anna Abein Spiess. He died Aug. 21, 1924 and is buried in Holy Family Cemetery, Davenport, IA.

Pvt. Spiess served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 439th Bomb Squad, 319th Bomb Group and was KIA when his B-26B Marauder was involved in a mid-air collision with another B-26 while training near Harding Field, near Baton Rouge, LA.

Joseph C. Spiess was born Sept. 22, 1910 to William and Mary Anna Abeln Spiess. He died Dec. 16, 1944 and is buried in Holy Family Cemetery, Davenport, IA.

Pvt. Spiess served in World War II with the U.S. Army 109th Infantry, 28th Infantry Division and was KIA in Luxembourg while serving his country.
