John Edward Rath was born July 27, 1925 to Ernest Robert and Myrtle Morrison Rath. He died Jan. 18, 1945 and is buried in Epinal American Cemetery and Memorial, Dinoze, France. Pvt. Rath served in World War II with the U.S. Army 179th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division. He was KIA and awarded the Purple Heart.

Howard Lee Rathman was born Jan. 22, 1921 to James E. and Elsie M. Peters Rathman. He died Jan. 15, 1945 and has a cenotaph in Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport, IA.
Lt. Rathman served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and was killed while on a practice bombing mission over Italy.
