Petty Officer Means served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Vernon Earl Melendy was born Apr. 16, 1916 to William Marshall and Lillian E. “Lillie” Dennis Melendy. He died May 20, 1942 and is buried in Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Sgt. Melendy served in World War II with the U.S. Army 30th Quartermaster Company and died in the South West Pacific area while in the service of his country.

James Lee Merideth was born Nov. 18, 1911 to M. Bert and Mannie Belle Schneckloth Merideth. He died Sept. 25, 1948 and is buried in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport, IA.

James served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps.

Pvt. Meyer served in World War II with the U.S. Army 194th Infantry Regiment, 17th Airborne Division and died of wounds received in action in Belgium and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Pvt. Meyer served in World War II with the U.S. Army 345th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Division. He was KIA and awarded the Purple Heart.
