Sgt. Harrington served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a gunner on a B-24 Liberator bomber that was shot down over Germany. He was awarded the Air Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the African-European-Middle Eastern ribbon with two battle stars, and the Distinguished Unit badge.

Harry Ross Hastings was born May 3, 1921 to Lester S. and Lorena V. Ross Hastings. He died Oct. 7, 1944 and is buried in Ardennes American Cemetery, Neupre, Belgium. 

2nd Lt. Hastings was a Co-Pilot on B-17G “Goon Girl” #42-31925 with the 331st Bomber Squadron, 94th Bomber Group, Heavy. He was KIA and awarded the Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters and the Purple Heart.
