Thaine Leslie Hopkins was born Oct. 26, 1915 to Roy and Bernice Olson Hopkins. He died Oct. 25, 1944 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Petty Officer Hopkins served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Hoel (DD-533) and was MIA/FOD/KIA when that ship was attacked and sunk off Samar. 253 officers and men died with their ship. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Harlan James “Bud” Horsman was born Aug. 21, 1927 to Orville Glenn and Gladys Ione Gross Horsman. He died Dec. 3, 1948 and is buried in Powhatan Cemetery, Plover, IA.

Harlan served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Keith Glenn Horsman was born Mar. 26, 1924 to Orville Glenn and Gladys Ione Gross Horsman. He died Oct. 2, 2006 and is buried in Powhatan Cemetery, Plover, IA.
