Richard Cornelius VanCitters was born Jan. 21, 1921 to Cornelius Neal and Marie Vander Meer Van Citters. He died Feb. 14, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii and has a cenotaph in Holman Cemetery, Sibley, IA.

Petty Officer Van Citters served in World War II with the U.S. Navy on board a plane which took off from Apamama, Gilbert Islands on a mission to photograph Wotje and search for enemy shipping and was listed as MIA. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Casper A. J. VanCitters was born Sept. 20, 1914 to Cornelius Neal and Marie Vander Meer Van Citters. He died Jan. 7, 1982 and is buried in Holman Cemetery, Sibley, IA.

Sgt. Van Citters served in World War II with the U.S. Army.

Buster VanGelderen was born Sept. 15, 1913 to John and Tracy Vander Heiden VanGelderen. He died Aug. 13, 1943 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and has a cenotaph in Holman Cemetery, Sibley, IA.

Petty Officer VanGelderen served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS John Penn (APA-23) and was MIA/FOD/KIA when that vessel was sunk off the coast of Guadalcanal as the result of being simultaneously hit by an aerial torpedo and an enemy plane. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Robert William Vogelaar was born Aug. 24, 1926 to William Charles and Stella Margaret Jane Vogelaar. He died Apr. 23, 1946 and is buried in Holman Cemetery, Sibley, IA.

Robert served with the U.S. Army in World War II.
